Contemporary House

When a discerning client approached us to design a luxury home in the heart of Toronto, we set out to create far more than just another modern house exterior. The result is the Grangemill Residence — a bold statement in contemporary architecture, a refined take on modern contemporary house design, and a showcase of residential interior design innovation.

Location & Vision

The site in Toronto required a design that stands out yet respects the surrounding neighbourhood. From the start, our vision was clear. We wanted a home that reflects the best of contemporary design while supporting a modern lifestyle.

Clean lines, abundant light, and open interior spaces bring the vision to life. In addition, the home reflects the sophistication and comfort that modern Toronto families seek.

Contemporary Architecture

Bold forms define the Grangemill Residence. Angular geometry, custom steel structure, and refined materials work together to create a strong architectural identity. Large windows connect indoor and outdoor spaces, making the home feel open and inviting.

Our team also developed a residential site plan that maximizes privacy, natural light, and long views. These elements are essential to great contemporary architecture.

Modern House Exterior

The exterior draws inspiration from iconic architecture, including the crystalline forms of Toronto’s Royal Ontario Museum. As a result, the home balances drama with elegance. Clean lines and sculpted massing give it a timeless presence.

Through expansive glazing and thoughtful detailing, the design feels modern without overwhelming its surroundings. Therefore, the home stands as a refined example of luxury residential architecture in Toronto.

Residential Interior Design

Inside the home, each space connects with ease. Double-height living areas open into more private rooms, creating a natural rhythm throughout the interior. In addition, the material palette adds warmth and clarity, while custom millwork brings refinement to every corner.

Our approach to residential interior design focuses on form and function. Therefore, each room feels beautiful, livable, and timeless.

The Design Impact

Many clients look for house plans in Canada that offer more than standard layouts. This home is an example of what thoughtful architecture can achieve. It respects its context, enhances everyday routines, and stands the test of time.

In Toronto, many new builds rely on predictable styles. However, the Grangemill Residence shows the value of bold, modern design when done with intention.

The 6ixDesign Approach

At 6ixDesign, collaboration guides our entire process. We unite architecture, engineering, and client vision from the first day.
For this project, that approach shaped every detail. Early coordination allowed us to integrate structure, interiors, and the residential site plan with precision.

As a result, the home feels efficient, comfortable, and visually distinct. Every part of the design responds to how people live today.

A New Standard for a Luxury House

The Grangemill Residence reimagines what a contemporary house in Toronto can be. It is a luxury home that feels effortless and refined. The design blends comfort with bold architectural expression. As a result, the home adds to its neighbourhood rather than dominating it.

For anyone exploring house plans in Canada or searching for modern homes in Toronto, this project sets a clear benchmark. It shows how thoughtful design can create a home that is both modern and timeless.
