Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Structural Engineer to join our team full time on site in Toronto. As a Structural Engineer at 6ixGroup, you will play a key role in designing and delivering innovative, efficient, and code compliant structures across residential, commercial, and mixed use projects. This position offers the opportunity to work hands on with a multidisciplinary team, contributing to the full project cycle from concept and analysis to construction and field review while shaping the built environment of the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design and analysis for steel, concrete, wood, and mass timber systems
•  Produce sealed drawings, calculations, and specifications for permit and tender
• Perform gravity, wind, and seismic analysis to OBC/NBCC and CSA standards (A23.3, S16, O86, S304, S136)
• Coordinate closely with architecture, MEP, civil, and contractors from concept to construction
• Review shop drawings, value-engineer details, and respond to RFIs
• Conduct site reviews, prepare field reports, and certify progress for building departments and lenders
• Develop pragmatic details for foundations, lateral systems, retaining structures, and renovations/retrofits
• Contribute to QA/QC processes and mentor junior team members

Qualifications:

• P.Eng. in Ontario or EIT on track for licensure
• 3–7 years of building-structure experience, preferably in Ontario
• Proficiency with ETABS, SAFE or RAM/STAAD, and hand-calculation fundamentals
• Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD for model-based coordination and detailing
• Strong command of OBC/NBCC and relevant CSA standards
• Clear written and verbal communication with a builder-first mindset and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced, on-site, multidisciplinary environment
