As our project portfolio continues to grow, we are looking for experienced professionals who are ready to take ownership and contribute to the continued development of our architectural department.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Architectural Manager to lead multiple architectural projects and oversee a growing team of architectural professionals. This is a hands-on management position that requires the successful candidate to remain closely involved in technical coordination, drawing review, project delivery, and team development. You will manage projects from feasibility and schematic design through permitting, construction documentation, tender, and construction administration while working closely with leadership, clients, consultants, contractors, municipal reviewers, and our in-house engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership:

  • Establish project scope, delivery strategies, schedules, milestones, and technical requirements
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, risks, deliverables, and outstanding decisions
  • Identify project challenges early and develop practical solutions before they affect costs or timelines
  • Support proposal preparation, project planning, fee allocation, and resource management

Technical & Code Review:

  • Review project scope, zoning requirements, Ontario Building Code requirements, accessibility standards, life-safety provisions, and technical constraints
  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, reports, and permit packages for accuracy, coordination, and completeness
  • Maintain strong technical, design, and documentation standards across all projects
  • Resolve design, technical, permitting, and construction-related issues
  • Respond to RFIs, shop drawings, change requests, and site-related concerns

Team Management & Mentorship:

  • Assign tasks and oversee the work of architectural technologists, designers, interns, and junior staff
  • Balance workloads based on deadlines, project priorities, and team capabilities
  • Mentor team members and support their technical and professional development
  • Lead internal project meetings and ensure action items are completed
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and solutions-focused workplace culture

Consultant & Client Coordination:

  • Coordinate architectural drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and landscape documents
  • Work directly with clients, consultants, contractors, municipalities, and internal engineering teams
  • Lead consultant coordination meetings, establish agendas, and follow up on outstanding items
  • Maintain clear communication with clients regarding progress, risks, schedules, and required decisions

Quality Assurance & Practice Development:

  • Maintain design quality, technical standards, and documentation consistency
  • Improve internal processes, templates, drawing standards, BIM workflows, and quality-assurance procedures
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the architectural department
  • Support leadership with operational and project-performance reporting

Qualifications:

  • Approximately 6 to 10 years of architectural experience, including at least 3 to 5 years of Canadian experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from a recognized university
  • Strong working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, municipal zoning by-laws, permitting processes, construction requirements, and applicable standards
  • Demonstrated experience managing low-rise or mid-rise residential, multiplex, commercial, mixed-use, or institutional projects
  • Proven ability to carry projects through all phases, from feasibility and schematic design to construction administration
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, assemblies, detailing, accessibility, life safety, and code compliance
  • Experience coordinating architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, civil, and landscape drawings
  • Experience managing project schedules, budgets, deliverables, quality control, and client expectations
  • Previous experience mentoring or supervising architectural technologists, designers, interns, or junior staff
  • Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and project-management platforms
  • Familiarity with BIM standards, drawing-production workflows, and quality-assurance procedures
  • OAA membership, Intern Architect status, or eligibility to pursue licensure is preferred
  • BCIN qualifications in relevant categories are considered an asset
  • Experience with Toronto and GTA municipal approval processes is preferred

Benefits:

  • Direct collaboration with principals and senior leadership
  • Exposure to a diverse portfolio of residential, multiplex, mixed-use, commercial, and institutional projects
  • Integrated in-house engineering support
