Job Title: Architectural Technologist

What You’ll Do

  • Work with senior team from design to completion of the project and generate complete set of construction drawings
  • Ensuring design drawings are OBC compliant
  • Review and coordinate drawings from consultants
  • Follow BIM standards and project work flow
  • Assist with preparation and revisions of design and construction documents, using Revit and Autocad
  • Prepare, review, and issue permits, tender packages, and construction documents with a
    high level of technical rigor and attention to detail
  • Set up and manage Revit work sharing, families, templates, and BIM standards; mentor
    teams on best practices and model health
  • Conduct code analysis and apply OBC requirements (Part 9 and Part 3—with deep
    experience in Part 3 large buildings), including life safety and accessibility
  • Manage RFIs and shop drawings, and maintain clear documentation and change tracking
  • Other duties and responsibilities requested by management and project lead

 

What We’re Looking For

  • 6+ years of architectural/technological experience in Canada with full project-cycle
    delivery
  • Comfortable communicating in working groups of various sizes and able to work well with others in a highly collaborative, team environment
  • Expert Revit skills with 5+ years in production and work sharing (families, detailing,
    phasing, linked models, clash detection)
  • Strong knowledge of OBC Part 9 and Part 3, especially Part 3 for large buildings, and applicable Zoning By-Laws is essential
  • Proven multi-disciplinary coordination and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat and Bluebeam
  • Familiarity with Rhino, Enscape, Adobe Illustrator, and Photoshop is an asset
  • Relevant field experience with construction site reviews
  • Experience with retail, commercial, and mixed-use projects is an asset
  • University or college degree in Architectural Technology
  • Master’s degree is an asset (MSc Arch Tech, or equivalent) but not required
  • Positive attitude, dedication, and a desire to make a difference is essential
  • Must be well organised, disciplined, reliable and professionally presentable with excellent written and verbal English skills

Salary

  • $60-90k commiserate with experience
